ENSCO’s incineration facility in EL Dorado, Arkansas is fully permitted to incinerate a variety of hazardous, non-regulated and "special handling" wastes. ENSCO operates three separate rotary kilns burning 218,000,000 BTU/hour. All DOT-approved containers are acceptable, including bulk solids and liquids received in tankers, end-dumps and roll-off bins and railcar. Waste types that can be accepted include: wastewaters, inorganics, organics, paint sludges, pesticides, reactives, halogenated and halogenated solvents, TCLP toxic metals, acids, caustics, and oils.
ENSCO submitted a RCRA Part B permit application to the Arkansas Department of Pollution Control and Ecology (ADPC&E) in 1985. Effective July 2, 1988, ENSCO's El Dorado facility received it's final Part B permit. The Part B permit authorized ENSCO to destroy RCRA and Comprehensive Environmental Response Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA) waste for a period of ten years. A Part B permit renewal was submitted in late 1997.
