S-K operates a hazardous waste landfill that can accept solids, sludges, and liquids. Types of wastes that can be accepted at the facility include: wastewaters, contaminated soil, inorganics, organics, latex paint sludges, PCBs (< 50 ppm), pesticides, TCLP toxic metals, acid sludges, caustic sludges, oil sludges.
The facility has the capability, and is required to, stabilize/solidify some wastes before being placed in the landfill. Other waste treatment services offered include microencapsulation, and neutralization.
All waste streams must be profiled by the generator, analyzed for required parameters, and accepted by the facility. An on-site laboratory is used to test incoming waste streams and verify that wastes treated on-site are approved for placement in the landfill.
The facility is operating under an approved RCRA Part B Permit.
