Abstract:

Mineral distribution and classification maps; scales from 1:250,000 to 1:5 million. Maps show geographic distribution and grade of mineral-resource commodities.

MR-Series maps contain information on the location of mineral occurrences, mineral resources, mines and prospects, commodities (other than organic fuels) and their distribution, and target areas with resource potential. The maps typically are of small scale (1:250,000 or smaller) and show little geology. Many maps cover very large areas such as Alaska or the conterminous United States.
