Abstract:

This free online database contains information on more than 30 chemicals. For each chemical in the database, a chemical fact sheet and a more detailed chemical summary data sheet can be either viewed online or, for some chemicals, downloaded in Adobe.pdf format. Each summary sheet contains information on the chemical's: identity and physical/chemical properties; production, use, and trends; environmental fate (environmental release, transport, persistence); health effects; environmental effects; Federal office contact information; and references.

          Chemicals listed:

Online - Acetaldehyde, Acetonitrile, Acrylamide, Acrylonitrile, Acrylic acid, Aniline, 1,1'-Biphenyl, 1-Butanol, Butraldehyde, Carbon disulfide, Carbonyl sulfide, Chlorine, Chlorobenzene, Cyclohexane, 1,4-Dioxane, Freon 113, Methanol, Methyl ethyl ketone, Methyl isobutyl ketone, Methyl Methacrylate, Methyl-tert-butyl ether, Methylchloroform (1,1,1-Trichloroethane), Methylene chloride (Dichloromethane), 2-Methoxyethanol, Nitrobenzene, Perchloroethylene, Phthalic Anhydride, Styrene, Toluene, Trichlorobenzene, 1,2,4-Trimethylbenzene,

Adobe.pdf - Acrylonitrile, Aniline, 1,1'-Biphenyl, Butraldehyde, Chlorobenzene, 1,4-Dioxane, Methyl Methacrylate, Nitrobenzene, Phthalic Anhydride, Styrene, Trichlorobenzene.

          Fact Sheets:

          1. The OPPT Chemical Fact Sheet discusses a chemicals uses, routes of human exposure, mobility in the environment, human health effects, which EPA programs offices regulate the chemical, what laws regulate the chemical and which federal agencies can be contacted for more information.

          2. The OPPT Chemical Summary contains:
        • I. CHEMICAL IDENTITY AND PHYSICAL/CHEMICAL PROPERTIES: CAS No., Common Synonyms, Molecular Formula, Chemical Structure, Physical State, Molecular Weight , Melting Point, Boiling Point, Water Solubility , Density , Vapor Density (air = 1) , KOC , Log KOW , Vapor Pressure, Reactivity, Flash Point, Henry's Law Constant, Fish Bioconcentration Factor, Odor Threshold, Conversion Factors
        • II. PRODUCTION, USE, AND TRENDS
        • III. ENVIRONMENTAL FATE: Environmental Release, Transport, Transformation/Persistence
        • IV. HUMAN HEALTH EFFECTS: Pharmacokinetics, Acute Toxicity, Subchronic/Chronic Effects, Carcinogenicity, Genotoxicity, Developmental/Reproductive Toxicity, Neurotoxicity
