Overview of State Regulations

          Colorado has adopted Federal EPA regulations as the state's regulations for asbestos. The state is NESHAP-delegated by the EPA Region 8.

          State/Federal Agencies Involved with the State Asbestos Program

          The following agencies/entities have asbestos-related regulatory and enforcement responsibilities in Colorado:

          A. The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (general phone (303) 692-3179) is involved in the following state/federal asbestos enforcement/requirements:
        • training courses - The state training course program for asbestos personnel is fully approved by the EPA Region 8.
