Abstract:

The Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission is a quasi-judicial agency established by the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970. The Commission works to ensure the timely and fair resolution of cases involving the exposure of American workers to unsafe or unhealthy working conditions. It is charged with ruling on cases forwarded to it by the Department of Labor when disagreements arise over the results of safety and health inspections performed by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). The Commission is composed of members appointed by the President, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate, from among persons who by reason of training, education, or experience are qualified to carry out its functions.
