Abstract:

The Environmental Periodicals Bibliography (EPB) is an extensive database of bibliographic records focused on environmental issues and research put together by the International Academy at Santa Barbara and NISC (National Information Services Corporation). It contains nearly 750,000 journal articles published over the past 25 years from almost 1,000 scientific, technical, and popular periodicals from around the world. The database is searchable by subject, author, journal title and type, geographic descriptor, date, or any combination of the above, using one of three search modes which display results in three different ways. A number of topic areas are covered, including:

          Environmental Ethics & Education
          Agricultural Effluents
          Recycling, Composting & Waste Management
          Thermal, Oil and Chemical Pollution
          Environmental Pollution, Degradation & Remediation
          Air Quality Control
          Nuclear Power Generation
          Emissions and Detection
Handling and Disposal of Radioactive Materials
          Thermal Air Pollution
          Treatment Systems and Processes

This database can be accessed in several ways:
        • On CD-ROM: published quarterly,
        • On the Internet via Cambridge Scientific Abstracts' IDS, and as a premium service on Environmental RouteNet,
