Overview of State Regulations
Alabama has adopted EPA regulations for asbestos. The state is NESHAP-delegated by the EPA Region 4. Transportation of asbestos is regulated at the county level in Alabama.
State/Federal Agencies Involved with the State Asbestos Program
The following agencies/entities have asbestos-related regulatory and enforcement responsibilities in Alabama:
