CAMEO -- Computer-Aided Management of Emergency Operations -- is computer software for chemical emergency planners and responders. CAMEO was developed by the U.S. EPA and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration to help emergency managers in government and industry plan for and mitigate chemical accidents and to comply with requirements under the Emergency Planning and Community Right to Know Act (EPCRA).
CAMEO is a suite of three separate, integrated software applications: CAMEO Chemical Database, ALOHA Air Dispersion Model, and MARPLOT Mapping Application. The CAMEO Chemical Database contains more than 4,700 chemicals, 70,000 synonyms, trade names, and other labeling conventions. CAMEO provides a powerful search engine that allows users to find chemicals quickly. Each chemical is linked to a Response Information Data Sheet (RIDS) that details the chemical-specific information on fire and explosive hazards, health hazards, fire fighting techniques, cleanup procedures, and protective clothing.

CAMEO is available for purchase from the National Safety Council, and can be obtained in DOS, Windows, or Macintosh formats.
