Abstract:

The National Contaminant Biomonitoring Program (NCBP) is maintained by the Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) to document temporal and geographic trends in concentrations of certain persistent environmental contaminants that may threaten fish and wildlife. Organochlorine chemical residues measured in freshwater fish, starlings, and waterfowl samples are analyzed for trends. Public inquiries should be directed to the FWS Division of Environmental Contaminants.
