Casella Waste Systems, Inc. is a comprehensive waste management company providing waste collection, transportation, disposal and recycling services throughout Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, upstate New York, and the northern tier of Pennsylvania.
Casella Waste Systems currently owns three Subtitle D landfill operations and operates a fourth Subtitle D landfill under a long-term lease arrangement. All of their operating landfills include leachate collection systems, groundwater monitoring systems and, where required, active methane gas extraction and recovery systems. Accepted materials for disposal at these facilities include municipal solid waste, construction and demolition debris, non-hazardous special industrial waste, and incinerator ash (Sawyer Environmental Recovery Facility only).
The company currently operates eight recycling processing facilities that process more than 20 classes of recyclable materials, including cardboard, office paper, containers and bottles.
Casella operates 31 transfer stations that receive solid waste collected primarily from our various collection operations, and compact and transfer the waste to larger company-owned vehicles for transport to landfills.
