Abstract:

BREEZE HAZ models analyze emissions from accidental liquid, gaseous, and dense gas releases. These models make it easier to model toxic gas releases for the preparation of emergency response plans, meeting toxic release analysis requirements, determining human exposure risks, and performing probabilistic risk analysis. The BREEZE HAZ models are:

AFTOX - This Windows-based puff/plume dispersion model predicts concentrations from continuous and instantaneous, liquid and gas, surface and elevated releases of toxic chemicals from point or area sources.

HOT SPILLS - This model first calculates the products of combustion and heat balance from burning chemical releases. It then predicts downward dispersion and ground-level concentrations of the resulting chemical products at preprogrammed and/or user-specified downwind distances.

DEGADIS - This chemical-specific model predicts dispersion from instantaneous, steady-state, and transient releases of LNG, LPG, ammonia, chlorine, hydrogen fluoride and other dense gases.

TRPUF - This proprietary model developed by Trinity is an enhanced version of EPA's PUFF model. TRPUF models single puffs from stationary sources.

INPUFF - This EPA multiple puff model analyzes non-continuous toxic gas releases occurring at up to 144 user-selected time steps or the more typical continuous plume from a stack.

SPILLS - This unsteady-state model is capable of modeling the evaporation of a chemical spill and the atmospheric dispersion of the resulting vapors.
