This database contains data that is most frequently requested of EPA Region IV via the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) for the following programs: Air Facility Subsystem (AFS); Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability System (CERCLIS); Permit Compliance System (PCS); Facility INdex Data System (FINDS); Permit Compliance System (PCS); Resource Conservation Recovery Information System (RCRIS); and Toxic Release Inventory (TRI).
The data is extracted from different EPA Database systems and represents a listing of all handlers within individual states in the EPA Region 4 geographic area (Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee). The data consists of a one-line description of each handler in a state, sorted by county, and handler name within a county. Included in each one-line record is information as to the handler's County name, EPA ID number, facility name, facility city, state and zip code, Latitude, Longitude, and a series of data elements that are in the Database.
How To Access The Data
These database files are available for downloading at no charge through the EPA Region IV ftp site, and can downloaded using a standard web browser. The files are "compressed" into an .EXE format and, after being downloaded to a user's remote computer, may be decompressed via typing the name of the system being downloaded including the state code (e.g. AFSAL, CERCLGA, or FINDSKY). Included within the compressed file is documentation on its use.
