NEM Online is a searchable Internet Web site developed by Michigan State University and its partners to support the activities of manufacturing assistance providers and manufacturers in the state of Michigan. The information infrastructure includes access to both private and public computer-based resources through cataloging. The project also encourages and facilitates communication between manufacturing assistance providers, manufacturers, and professional experts in manufacturing and business. The site also has a wide variety of environmental information.
Each entry has a title, a descriptive summary with contact information, keywords, a call number, and the Internet address. Click on the title of the entry to link to the Web site. The keywords for each entry are links to other records with the same keyword.
The site is broken into several sections:
- NEM Catalog - A searchable listing of over 2,000 manufacturing Web sites.
- NEM Online AltaVista Index - A searchable index of over 100,000 manufacturing-related pages.
- Business Journals - Retrieve articles from 1400 journals via ABI/INFORM (Membership required).
- Partners - NEM Online partners with several organizations to provide expert information on manufacturing.
- Referral System - Use the Referral System to locate organizations that assist small- and medium-sized manufacturers in Michigan.
