This database contains soil moisture and other soil data for seventeen states. The data are stored in seventeen flat files, one per state.
Types of data contained in each file include: minimum soil temperature, water fraction by volume, soil salinity, temperature corrected soil conductivity, and real dielectric constant. The database contains a readme file which explains the content of the data files.
How To Access The Data
The data files can be accessed free of charge through the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) World Wide Web site. Click on the Technical Data button in the left-hand menu.
