Abstract:

The West Virginia University Industrial Extension is a component of the Extension and Outreach Unit of the College of Engineering and Mineral Resources (CEMR). It provides technical and management services for West Virginia's small and medium-sized manufacturing firms. The service offers environmental assistance programs, including the Waste Reduction Assistance Program (WRAP) which helps businesses limit waste-management costs and identify new technologies to reduce hazardous waste. WRAP can help: identify and categorize waste streams; analyze waste streams for technology changes; identify opportunities for source reduction; evaluate recycling; and analyze waste management costs.
