The mission of the Minnesota Office of Environmental Assistance (OEA) is to protect Minnesota's environment by assuring a sustainable economy through waste prevention and resource conservation. The office is dedicated to promoting an environmentally sound future through education, assistance, and partnership-building to prevent waste and pollution, conserve and recover resources, and plan for the responsible management of all wastes.
They provide business assistance through their Business Environmental Resource Center to help Minnesota businesses become more environmentally friendly. They have a wide array of tools to assist businesses including grants and loans, guides and directories, awards, Minnesota Waste Wise, and fact sheets. The Minnesota Technical Assistance Program (MnTAP) provides non-regulatory pollution prevention and waste management assistance. The Recycling and Reuse Business Assistance Center (RBAC) works with targeted industries to increase the use of secondary materials.
They also provide solid waste assistance, environmental education, sustainable community services, and financial assistance.
