The Survey of Pollution Abatement Costs and Expenditures collects information on annual operating costs and capital expenditures for pollution abatement activities in manufacturing industries. This survey is conducted annually, and it provides estimates of pollution abatement spending for detailed levels of industrial classification. Capital expenditures are provided for air and water pollution abatement by abatement technique, for air pollution abatement by type of pollution abated, and for hazardous and nonhazardous solid waste management. Information is available on the results of this survey at the Bureau of Census World Wide Web site.
