MAGELLAN Geographix was founded in 1991, with the goal of integrating state-of-the-art computer technology with accurate geographic content, exacting cartographic standards, and superior graphic design in order to deliver the most visually compelling and information-rich maps available anywhere in the world.
Advances in desktop computer technology facilitated the system environment for creating maps with pertinent geopolitical information, in a modern cartographic production environment. By utilizing the staff's skills in obtaining map source information, cartography and graphic arts, unique maps that served the requirements of print publishers, were readily designed. Specification and development of the company's Map Assimilation Process (MAP) assures quality control, resulting in the highest quality products, satisfied customers and repeat business. Many notable newspaper, magazine and map publishers continually contract with MAGELLAN Geographix to create custom maps for their use.
MAGELLAN Geographix has the copyright to 95 percent of the maps it creates, and at this point an extensive database of several thousand maps has been created, indexed and copyrighted. This extensive database of copyrighted maps serves as the foundation on which new maps will be created for our print publishing, travel, education, government, Fortune 1000 customers and for the rapidly growing base of electronic content publishers.
