The National Publications Catalog is a yearly catalog of EPA publications. Over 5000 titles from various EPA information services are presented in the catalog. Entries in the catalog are organized into 4 sections: EPA Sponsoring Office Listing; Alphabetical Listing; EPA Number Listing; and Subject Listing. Each entry in the catalog provides the document title, EPA Number, the source (where to obtain the document), and the NTIS/GPO Number, if applicable. This catalog is available from NCEPI at no cost until supplies run out. After this, it must be purchased from NTIS or GPO. The National Publications Catalog is typically put out by EPA in the summer or fall of each year.
Approximately 60% of the publications listed in the EPA National Publications Catalog are also available from NCEPI at no cost. Users can search the National Publications Catalog for specific EPA publications of interest by linking to the NCEPI web site. The NCEPI web site also has new publications not yet listed in the National Publications Catalog. However, some items in the National Publications Catalog are available only from sources other than NCEPI, such as GPO, NTIS, and EPA's Office of Air Quality, Planning, and Standards.
