Abstract:

The Envirofacts Master Chemical Integrator (EMCI) is a free, online, searchable database system allows users to obtain information on specific chemicals, such as acronyms, chemical identification numbers, and chemical names, as reported by Envirofacts databases (AFS, PCS, RCRIS and TRIS).

          How To Access The Data

There are two ways to display chemical information:

          1. Chemical information can be searched using the "EMCI Query Page". Go to the Web site listed below and enter your search criteria into the box labeled "Chemical Option Values". The results of a search will include chemical information from several different databases and MSDSs. Typically the sources list the chemical's health hazards, physical properties, chemical properties, and ecological dangers. RCRA hazardous waste codes can also be searched as name fragments.

          2. A listing of chemical information can be accessed using the "Envirofacts Warehouse Chemical References Index". Click on the "Chem References " button on the header bar to view the listing of chemicals.
