P2 GEMS is an Internet search tool for facility planners, engineers, and managers who are looking for technical, process, and materials management information on the Web. The P2 GEMS World Wide Web site is a guide to over 500 pollution prevention resources on the Internet. P2 GEMS only contains links to information that has been mounted on the Web, a few gopher sites, and a few ftp sites. Users can search P2 GEMS by keyword or by selecting one of four categories: Product or Industry, Chemical or Waste, Management Tools, or Process.
Users can access the P2 GEMS web site using a standard web browser. P2 GEMS is maintained by the Toxics Use Reduction Institute (TURI). TURI is a multidisciplinary research, education, and policy center established by the Massachusetts Toxic Use Reduction Act of 1989.
