Abstract:

As the largest agency of the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the United States Forest Service (USFS) manages public lands in national forests and grasslands. The USFS is the largest forestry research organization in the world, and provides technical and financial assistance to State and private forestry agencies. The Forest Service provides guidance through a variety of publications, many of which are available through the USFS World Wide Web site. A number of online publications are available at no cost from the following organizations within the USFS:
