Founded in 1991, SSI operates a soil recycling center for nonhazardous petroleum contaminated soil, industrial filter media, and biosolids. The center operates under a North Carolina Permit.
Acceptable soil contaminants include gasoline, aviation fuels, kerosene, diesel fuels, naphtha, fuel oils (#2, #4, #6), motor oil, and used oils. Soils can be accepted in drums, rolloffs, dump trucks, and rail cars.
Soils are treated by low temperature thermal desorption (LTTD).
SSI can mobilize the LTTD system for on-site remedial efforts.
