DIALOG is an online service for professional researchers which offers current and comprehensive information from over 450 databases from a broad scope of disciplines, including: Business, Law & Government, News, Patents, Agriculture & Nutrition, Chemistry, Computer Technology, Energy & Environment, Medicine & Biosciences, Pharmaceuticals, Science & Technology. DIALOG offers the complete text of articles from many journals, magazines, newsletters, and newspapers, and provides data on more than 10 million chemical substances and over 15 million patents. DIALOG also offers references to and abstracts of articles from more than 100,000 international science, technology, social science, and humanities publications.
How To Access The Data
Access to DIALOG can be obtained by setting up an account and obtaining a subscription through Knight-Ridder. The DIALOG databases can than be searched through the Internet using a standard web browser, or via dialup modem. Fee based valet searching can also be performed through the DialSearch service if a subscription to DIALOG is not desired.
