This guide is intended to increase awareness about technical information and specialized support services/resources related to soil vapor extraction (SVE) treatment technologies. It directs managers of sites being cleaned up under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), Underground Storage Tank (UST), and Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA) waste programs to SVE resource documents, databases, hotlines, and dockets. It also identifies regulatory mechanisms that have the potential to ease the implementation of SVE at hazardous waste sites. The document presents a cross section of information intended to aid users in remedial decision-making, including: abstracts of field reports and guidance documents; computer systems/data bases; pertinent regulations and associated guidance documents; program hotlines; and centers for ordering publications. Printed copies of this document can be requested from the National Center for Environmental Publications and Information (NCEPI), or purchased through the National Technical Information Service (NTIS). |
