Abstract:

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has a number of online databases at the web site referenced below. Users can link to the web page below and choose from free access to a number of data sets, including:
        • Physical Reference Data of the NIST Physics Laboratory. There are several online databases listed on this page in the areas of physical constants, atomic and molecular spectroscopic data, ionization data, and x-ray and gamma-ray data.
        • The NIST Chemistry WebBook which contains thermochemical data for over 5000 organic and small inorganic compounds and ion-energetics data for over 14,000 compounds. A number of new classes of data have been added including vapor pressure data for over 5000 compounds, Antoine coefficient data for over 1200 compounds, heats of reaction for over 1300 compounds, mass spectra for over 8000 compounds, and IR spectra for over 5000 compounds. There are many avenues for searching the database. Structures are given for most species, as well as common and commercial names.
        • The NIST WWW High Temperature Superconductors database (WebHTS) provides evaluated thermal, mechanical, and superconducting property data for oxide superconductors.
        • The Thermodynamics of Enzyme-Catalyzed Reactions Database contains thermodynamic data on enzyme-catalyzed reactions that have been recently published in the Journal of Physical and Chemical Reference Data (JPCRD). For each reaction the following information is provided: the reference for the data, the reaction studied, the name of the enzyme used and its Enzyme Commission number, the method of measurement, the data and an evaluation thereof.
