Abstract:

Ground water professionals should be able to conduct and interpret aquifer tests, including pumping and slug tests. The determination of the hydraulic properties of the subsurface at hazardous waste sites or water production facilities is most commonly based upon these tests.

Each module of this course reviews the theory behind the method of analysis appropriate for the specific hydrogeologic conditions most commonly encountered in practice. Case studies for each hydrogeologic condition are presented along with actual data sets. The student learns by applying the appropriate method of analysis to each case study data set. The analyses are aided by the use of Geraghty and Miller's AQTESOLV software in most modules.
