The Maryland Geological Survey conducts research and studies on the terrain, geology, geohydrology, and mineral resources of Maryland, and publishes reports and maps on their research. Programs at the Geological Survey consist of: Earth Science Information; Coastal & Estuarine Geology; Hydrogeology & Hydrology; and Environmental Geology & Mineral Resources. The Geological Survey's activities are essential for understanding and managing Maryland's natural resources, and for understanding and mitigating human impact within Maryland's ecosystems. |
