Abstract:

Microbe Inotech Laboratories is a seven year old, independent microbiological laboratory which specializes in the testing of soil and wastewater samples for microbial degrader activity. These assays are used as bioremediation feasibility indicators for our international base of clients. We are USDA permitted to receive soil samples from international and restricted US sources.

          Our five (5) day turn-around Bioremediation Feasibility Test Package ($1,620) includes:
        • plate counts
        • Endpoint Assays
        • GC-FAME identifications of the seven most prevalent microbe strains and all nutrient chemistries on four soil or groundwater samples
        • full report with the species names and quantitative ranking of the most efficient degrading microbes
        • site specific nutrient recommendations
        • an estimated time range for site closure.

          The Endpoint Assay determines how well bacteria strains isolated from soil or groundwater samples are able to grow using targeted contaminants as carbon sources. The Kinetic Assay indicates how the addition of nutrients and/or oxygen will effect the contaminant degrading bacteria's growth rate. Comparative Population Assays are a MPN (most probable number) test that provides an order of magnitude of the isolated, bacterial degrader populations. The lab's identification databases possess the capability to rapidly compare and identify your degraders performance with over 2,400 microorganisms down to the sub-species level.
