Technology Description:

The Alternative Treatment Technology Information Center (ATTIC) is a comprehensive computer database system providing up-to-date information on innovative treatment technologies. ATTIC version 2.0 provides a mechanism for retrieving full-text documents of key literature, as well as access to four databases: Treatment Technology Database; Treatability Study Database; Underground Storage Tank Database; Oil/Chemical Spill Database.

          How To Access ATTIC
ATTIC can be accessed via the World Wide Web (through a Telnet link) by clicking on the "ATTIC can be accessed" link at the web site referenced below. Once you have logged in and connected to FedWorld, go to the Environment and Energy (E&E) Mall, Press (1) for Environment and Energy (E&E) Gateway Systems, and ATTIC is system number 74. This will connect you to the ATTIC BBS.

Users can also access ATTIC through the modem number listed below using either a PC or a dumb terminal equipped with a modem and appropriate communications software (e.g., CrossTalk, PROCOMM).

          Using ATTIC
All functions are performed using abbreviated commands. ATTIC is also equipped with a built-in help function. Users can type H for an easy guide to the menu. Some of the data in ATTIC can be viewed online and some of the data must be downloaded to be viewed.
