BNFL, Inc. is a full service nuclear waste management, decommissioning, engineering, and nuclear materials handling company which provides integrated global solutions to its customers. The combination of its advanced technologies, management capabilities, and record of accomplishment -- based on over 25 years of continuous nuclear fuel cycle and waste management operating experience of its parent company -- allow it to provide services to both commercial and federal customers. Since its inception in 1990, BNFL Inc. has won nearly $2 billion in contracts, including major contracts at the U.S. Department of Energy's Hanford, Idaho, Oak Ridge, Rocky Flats, and Savannah River Sites.
- Technology and Engineering Services Group - Provides services to clients through three Business Units: Engineering Services, Decontamination and Decommissioning, and Commercial Services. Its clients include the Department of Energy, commercial companies, and other BNFL Inc. Business Units.
- Government Site Operations Group - Responsible for obtaining Government site operating contracts and supporting those operating business units formed to perform the contracts.
- Waste Management Group - Responsible for pursuing and performing waste management and processing contracts in which the company makes investments, and identifying technologies in which we may invest that are needed to provide complete waste management services. The Group is responsible for BNFL Inc.'s privatized projects supporting the Department of Energy in remediating waste inventories at different sites.
- Fuel Cycle and Materials Processing Group - Supports a wide range of British Nuclear Fuels plc (BNFL) fuel cycle interests in North America. This support allows for the application of BNFL's technology to U.S. problems, including the safe, secure disposition of excess weapons materials. Including: international nuclear trade and safeguards agreements; disposition of excess weapons plutonium and highly enriched uranium; spent fuel handling and storage; transportation of nuclear materials; materials processing; and support for the fuel stabilization program in North Korea.
