Overview of State Regulations
Tennessee has state regulations in addition to adopted Federal EPA regulations for asbestos. The state is NESHAP-delegated by the EPA Region 4. Tennessee does not have a state training course program for asbestos personnel.
State/Federal Agencies Involved with the State Asbestos Program
The following agencies/entities have asbestos-related regulatory and enforcement responsibilities in Tennessee:
A. The Department of Environment and Conservation, Division of Air Pollution Control, Asbestos Office (contact phone (615) 532-0572 , general phone (615) 532-0554) is involved in the following state/federal asbestos enforcement/requirements:
