AGRICOLA is a bibliographic database consisting of literature citations for journal articles, proceedings, theses, patents, audiovisual materials, computer software, and technical reports pertaining to all aspects of agriculture and related subjects, from 1970 to the present. Topics include agricultural products and engineering, fertilizers, food, pesticides, plant sciences, and soils. AGRICOLA is primarily a document locator and an index to the National Agricultural Library's collection, but since 1984 the database also has included some records produced by cooperating institutions for documents not held by the Library. The AGRICOLA database contains more than 3.0 million records as of 1993.
How To Access The Data
There are several ways to access the data:
1. Online access to AGRICOLA is available through several commercial vendors, including DIALOG Information Services. AGRICOLA access through your Web browser at http://www.tamu.edu/library/agricins.html requires that TN3270 software be installed and properly configured on your computer.
2. Users may purchase magnetic tapes from the National Technical Information Service (NTIS).
3. Users may access the AGRICOLA database by purchasing it on CD-ROM from commercial vendors.
