Chemical Reaction-Based Indicators
Agri-Screen Ticket is an enzymatic reaction format field test kit that will detect the presence of cholinesterase inhibiting pesticides (i.e. Carbamates, Organophosphates, Thiophosphates) in air, water, soil, fruits, vegetables and grains.
A disc coated with eel cholinesterase is exposed to the sample. If the cholinesterase is destroyed no color is produced when the disc is exposed to a second disc containing a color reaction enzyme.

This technology was developed by the Midwest Research Institute for the United States Army. It is currently used in anti-chemical warfare applications.
Levels of detection are in the low parts per million and vary by chemical. Actual levels must be determined by other analytical methods.
