          Michigan has state regulations for asbestos. The state is NESHAP-delegated by the EPA Region 5.

          State/Federal Agencies Involved with the State Asbestos Program

          The following agencies/entities have asbestos-related regulatory and enforcement responsibilities in Michigan:

          A. The Department of Consumer and Industry Services, Bureau of Safety and Regulations, Occupational Health Division, Asbestos Program (general phone (517) 335-9280) is involved in the following state/federal asbestos enforcement/requirements:
        • training courses - The state training course program for asbestos personnel is partially approved by the EPA Region 5.
