Recreation 2000 and Fish & Wildlife 2000 are major nationwide programs initiated by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) to meet the public's increasing demand for recreational and wildlife opportunities on the public lands. Recreation 2000 publications include mapping products, guides, and brochures designed to increase public awareness of the availability and importance of recreational and wildlife values and BLM's stewardship role. Recreation 2000 mapping products address four separate levels of detail as follows:
Level I: Small-scale national recreation maps, guides, and brochures portraying BLM recreation sites in the Western United States.
Level II: Individual State recreation maps, guides, and brochures portraying various BLM recreational facilities.
Level III: District recreation maps, guides, and brochures portraying various BLM recreational facilities.
Level IV: Site-specific recreation maps, guides, and brochures developed by the BLM.
