Technology Description:

The 580 EZ is a Photo Ionization Detector (PID) based instrument. An air sample is drawn into the detector by the instruments internal pump. As the air sample passed through the detector some organic compounds are ionized by a special ultra violet lamp. The instrument measures this ion current.

          The PID lamp emits light at specific energy levels. Any compound whose ionization potential (I.P.) is below this energy level can be measured by a PID. The most common energy lamps are 10.6 electron volts (ev) and 11.8 ev. The PID is a simple hand held portable analyzer that provides a continuous real time measurement. The 580 EZ measures a large number of organic compounds.

          The unit is continuous monitoring with readings provided on an LCD meter. Technical information brochure is available upon request.
