The Pollution Prevention Research Projects Database (P2RPD) provides the latest information on pollution prevention research activities in the United States. The database currently includes nearly 400 projects, and will continue to grow as more research is conducted. The majority of the projects included in the database are those conducted by state and federal government agencies, universities, and nonprofit research institutions. Other sources of information are from local government and private industry research.
The database file for each project contains: project name, date last updated, project summary, project keywords, organization performing research, primary research contact, date research started/completed, publications based on research, approximate project budget, primary project funder, and funder contact.
There are several ways to access the data:
1. Go to the Web site listed above and click on the "Search the Database Using Full-Text Keyword Searching" link. Click on the P2 Research button on the right side of the page. This links to a search engine where users can conduct a full-text search online by keyword.
2. For people with limited Internet access, or who would like a copy of the P2RPD, the contents are now available as a compressed zip file. The file contains all the information from the online P2RPD and is searchable. However, this file will not be updated regularly. The file is available to download via e-mail or on a floppy disk.
