The Economic Research Service (ERS) is the economic research agency of the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The ERS is the official source for economic and other social science analysis and information on agriculture, food, natural resources, and rural America. ERS functions include research, staff analysis, and development of economic and statistical indicators in five areas--commercial agriculture, food and consumer economics, natural resources and environment, rural economy, and energy and new uses.
A variety of information is available at the ERS World Wide Web site, including a listing of Statistics and Methods publications and databases. For each publication or database of interest, users can obtain additional information such as a brief abstract, purchase or subscription price, and ordering information. Some information and files can also be downloaded at no cost. Information and data are also available through EPA's web site at http://www.epa.gov/cesssi96/ces/guide/prog(01).htm.
