The Congressional Office of Technology Assessment (OTA) closed on September 29, 1995. During its 23-year history, OTA provided Congressional members and committees with objective and authoritative analysis of the complex scientific and technical issues of the late 20th century. The National Academy Press (NAP) has made available in electronic form the complete collection of OTA publications along with additional materials that illuminate the history and impact of the agency - over 100,000 pages of the best available analyses of the scientific and technical policy issues of the past two decades. Some areas covered by these publications include:
Biomedical, Energy, Global Standards, Health Risks, Trade and Environment, Agriculture, Dioxin Treatment, Neurotoxicity, Environmental Costs of Electricity, Remote Sensing, Environmental Monitoring for Nuclear Safeguards, Environmental Technology, Environmental Technology, and Aquaculture.
Users can search the 1986 to 1995 OTA publication archives by keyword at the NAP online site. In addition, the document archives can be browsed by year. These publications are available in Adobe PDF format, and users can access each publication by clicking on the title to download the document.
