Abstract:

The main emphasis of the collection is on chemical toxicology, all aspects of air pollution as well as the basic sciences, with some coverage of business and economics. The collection's historical coverage of air pollution is particularly strong. The Library also operates an Air Information Center (AIC) for the Office of Air Quality Planning and Standards (OAQPS). This Center handles requests for air pollution information and documents from all over the world. The AIC provides free literature searches to state and local air pollution agency employees. EPA's Online Library System (OLS) is a computerized list of bibliographic citations compiled by the EPA library network.
