This free online database contains a series of fact sheets about hazardous substances. Each fact sheet serves as a quick and easy-to-understand guide about exposure to hazardous substances and human health effects. Answers to the most frequently asked questions about exposure to hazardous substances found around hazardous waste sites are provided. Information is excerpted from the ASTDR Toxicological Profiles and Public Health Statements.
        The following information on chemical can be found in the database:
      • Material Safety Data Sheet (link to University of Utah)
      • CAS#, molecular formula, Stereo Image, XYZ File, NFPA Label Key, chemical description, evaporation rate, flammability, odor, solubility, reactivity
      • Production, pollutant sources, common uses
      • Exposure routes, effects of short term exposure, effects of long term exposure, carcinogeneity, medical tests for exposure, human metabolic path
      • Is the chemical found at National Priorities List sites identified by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
      • Environmental fate, partitioning, degradation, bioaccumulation
      • Federal government maximum permissible level in drinking water, reportable quantity for spills or accidental releases into the environment to be reported to the EPA.
      • Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) permissible exposure limit for an 8-hour workday and a 40-hour workweek.
