Overview of State Regulations
Oregon has county/state asbestos regulations in addition to adopted Federal EPA regulations for asbestos. The state is NESHAP-delegated by the EPA Region 10.
State/Federal Agencies Involved with the State Asbestos Program
The following agencies/entities have asbestos-related regulatory and enforcement responsibilities in Oregon:
A. The Department of Environmental Quality, Air Quality Section (contact phone (503) 229-5982 , general phone (503) 229-5696) is involved in the following state/federal asbestos enforcement/requirements:
- training courses - The state training course program for asbestos personnel is fully approved by the EPA Region 10.
