The Environmental Quality Council (the Council) is a citizen board, appointed by the governor, to hear and determine all cases or issues arising under the laws, standards, rules, regulations or orders issued or administered by the Department of Environmental Quality and to promulgate all regulations necessary for the administration of the Environmental Quality Act. The Council's mission is to serve as a professional, impartial, and independent hearing body in resolving disputes and to apply its experience in evaluating environmental issues in a manner that fulfills the purpose of the Act. |
