Overview of State Regulations
Kansas has state asbestos regulations for asbestos. The state is NESHAP-delegated by the EPA Region 7. Kansas does not have a state training course program for asbestos personnel.
State/Federal Agencies Involved with the State Asbestos Program
The following agencies/entities have asbestos-related regulatory and enforcement responsibilities in Kansas:
A. The Kansas Department of Health and Environment Asbestos Control Section (contact phone (916) 296-1547) is involved in the following state/federal asbestos enforcement/requirements:
- certifications

- pre-abatement notifications/approvals
- review of abatement designs
