WindowChem was founded to provide a distribution network for those programmers working in the Microsoft Windows environment, developing software to solve chemistry related problems. Specifically, the programs that WindowChem authors specialize in are created using programming tools for Microsoft Windows such as Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Visual Basic, Microsoft SDK, Borland's ObjectVision and TurboPascal, Microsoft's Quick C, and C++. By publishing a program in the WindowChem Software catalog both authors and users benefit. Authors are practicing chemists with computer programming expertise and are paid royalties for their programs. Users benefit by having access to programs written by chemists with similar problems and needs. This approach helps users become more efficient and productive in the laboratory. |
