Abstract:

A wide variety of regional and subregional maps of varying scales and levels of detail. Included are such products as regional reference maps, tributary watershed maps, reservoir area maps, land use/land cover mapping, soils, geology, and minerals mapping.

          Regional Reference Map: General base map of Tennessee Valley Region, size 11 by 17 inches, scale 1 inch = 30 miles. One edition with county outlines and one edition without county outlines. Lithoprinted.

          Tributary Watershed Maps: Tributary watershed maps by TVA's Maps and Surveys Branch, lithoprinted in colors, showing drainage basin outline, drainage, topography, highways, railroads, and cities for each major watershed of the Tennessee Valley. Typical scale is 1 inch = 4 miles.

          Reservoir Area Maps: Reservoir area maps revised since 1970 showing reservoir and surrounding region, drainage, highways, railroads, and shoreline of lakes at normal pool elevation. These maps are available in two sizes. Blueline prints are available for the 22-inch edition; scale varies. Maps lithoprinted in colors are available in 11-inch edition; scale varies. Revised editions are available for selected reservoirs. Call TVA for specific coverage information.

          Land Use/Land Cover Maps: Land use and land cover maps are compiled from current aerial photography at various scales to meet the needs of regional development projects conducted by TVA and other agencies.

          Soils Map: Soils in the Tennessee Valley General suitability for agricultural use. This soil map was compiled by TVA Soils and Fertilizer Branch in cooperation with the Soil Conservation Service, U.S. Department of Agriculture with cartography by TVA's Maps and Surveys Branch. 1968 Edition, scale 1 inch = 10 miles. It shows by color legend and symbol: soil association, prevailing topography, parent material, principal utilization, and general suitability of soils in the Tennessee Valley.

          Geology Maps: Geologic map of Tennessee in four sections, folded, 1:250,000 scale, size 37 by 49 inches.

          Geologic map of Georgia: 1:500,000 scale, size 42 by 58 inches.

          Mineral Resources Maps: Mineral resources of the Tennessee Valley Region, 1970 edition, scale 1 inch = 10 miles, size 35 by 49 inches, lithoprinted in colors.

          Mineral Resources and Mineral Industries of Tennessee: 1:500,000 scale, size 40 by 60 inches.
